How did I ever live without a Vitamix blender?

I finally decided to purchase a Vitamix blender. I had seen them, heard of them, but only recently started to imagine how this could make by Green Smoothie routine much more enjoyable. I was particularly inspired by Jane from blenditandmendit, when I stumbled across her videos on youtube. After watching eBay for a few weeks, I decided I was better off purchasing a factory reconditioned Vitamix, complete with 7 year warranty for just 379.00. This was still a lot of money to think about spending on a blender, but I am discovering it is so worth it. I have been using what I thought was a fairly powerful Kenmore Elite blender to make my green smoothies for about a year now, and every morning would half chew half drink a concoction of greens and fruit. Now I am able to enjoy the same beverage with a velvety smooth texture. Priceless!

I have now had my blender for a week, and have never experienced a creamier kale smoothie! Not only that but I have learned I can whip hot soup in 5 minutes
The above photo was the first recipe I tried, from blenditandmendit, Robusto Tomato Soup, made with fresh tomatoes from my garden, cashews, and nutritional yeast. Let me tell you this was creamier than my old favorite Campbell's mixed with milk.
